Traditional Schützenfest of the Schützenverein Wagenfeld von 1907 e.V. on a weekend in June
The Schützenverein Wagenfeld was founded in 1907, making it one of the traditional marksmen's clubs in the Diepholz district. For over a century, the club has nurtured the marksmen's traditions in Wagenfeld and made its annual Schützenfest a firm fixture in village life.
Wagenfeld is located in the southwestern part of the Diepholz district, on the border with North Rhine-Westphalia. The municipality cultivates an active club life, in which the Schützenverein plays an important role. The Schützenfest is one of the highlights in the annual village calendar.
The program follows the classic cornerstones of a North German Schützenfest. Saturday focuses on assembly, bird shooting, and the evening dance. Sunday features a morning pint (Frühschoppen), a church service, a parade, and the proclamation of the king, before the festival concludes in the evening.
A modern component: The club maintains an active presence on Instagram (schuetzenverein_wagenfeld) and regularly communicates current information, pictures, and dates there. This allows the club to reach a younger audience and convey a contemporary image of the marksmen's traditions.
Schützenfeste in the Wagenfeld region are deeply rooted in village life. Those who want to experience authentic North German customs will find a genuine event here.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Schützenverein Wagenfeld in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
