Schützenfest Vollbüttel / Ribbesbüttel

Two Clubs, One Festival

Vollbüttel and Ribbesbüttel are two neighboring villages in the Isenbüttel municipality in the Gifhorn district. While Ribbesbüttel, with its 16th-century water castle, represents the historically more significant center, Vollbüttel is an independent district with its own identity and its own shooting club. The joint organization of the Schützenfest on the Ribbesbüttel sports field is a sensible solution that shares the effort and intensifies the festive atmosphere through greater participation.

Festival Infrastructure

The Ribbesbüttel sports field with an adjoining festival tent offers the spatial requirements for a festival of this magnitude. The festival tent, catering stands, shooting ranges, and festival grounds for the parade and family program are well-established. Both clubs bring together their members, their ladies' and youth departments, and their dedicated helpers.

King's Shoot and King's Proclamation

Both clubs determine their monarchs in parallel or one after the other. This means there will be two King's Proclamations on the festival Sunday – a highlight with double the impact. The ladies' and youth kings of both clubs will also be announced in the same ceremony. The festival parade through both districts, accompanied by marching bands, visibly unites the shooting families for a joint celebration.

Tradition in the Boldecker Land

The area around Vollbüttel and Ribbesbüttel is part of the Boldecker Land, a historical cultural landscape in the southern Gifhorn district between the Mittelland Canal and the Aller River. Schützenfeste have a long tradition here and are important identity markers for the individual village communities.
