Schützenfest of SV Bookholzberg on July 4th and 5th, 2026 — King's proclamation on Sunday evening in the district of the municipality of Ganderkesee
The Schützenfest of SV Bookholzberg is scheduled for July 4th to 5th, 2026, on the calendar of the Ganderkesee Schützenbund (marksmen's association). Bookholzberg is one of the larger districts of the municipality of Ganderkesee, and the Schützenverein (marksmen's club) upholds the annual festival tradition with a bird shooting contest, a parade, a king's dinner, and a dance evening.
The highlight of the weekend is the proclamation of the new shooting royalty on Sunday evening at 7 PM. Free admission to the public program.
With its central location in the western part of the municipality, Bookholzberg is one of Ganderkesee's significant districts. The SV Bookholzberg is one of the twelve member clubs of the Ganderkesee Schützenbund and maintains its own clubhouse with shooting ranges and a festival ground.
With its date on the first July weekend, the Bookholzberg festival fits between the Schützenfest of SV Ganderkesee (June 27th/28th) and the festival of SV Hoyerswege (July 11th/12th). The classic weekend program of shooting competitions, a parade, and a dance evening is accompanied by musical contributions from fife and drum corps and festival bands from the region.
The ceremonial proclamation of the new shooting king on Sunday at 7 PM is the emotional highlight of the weekend — with the handover of the king's chain and the festive reception of the new court.
