Schützenfest at the Waldbad Steimbke with parade, children's shooting, and King's Breakfast
The municipality of Steimbke is located in the eastern Nienburg/Weser district and is a member and administrative seat of the Steimbke municipality. Marksmanship has a long tradition here, and the Steimbke Marksmen's Association is one of the firm pillars of community life.
The Festival Grounds at the Waldbad Steimbke offer the ideal backdrop for a Schützenfest: spacious, close to nature, with pine forests and the adjacent Waldbad as an attraction for families. Both the shooting ranges and the festival tent with a dance floor can be accommodated here, and the festival grounds allow for grand parades of the marksmen.
The first day of the festival starts in the afternoon with the parade at 2:00 PM through Steimbke. Afterwards, at 3:30 PM, the shooting competition begins in the three classic categories: children, ladies, and gentlemen. In the evening, starting at 8:00 PM, a dance ball in the festival tent with a live band or DJ — the highlight for the young marksmen's community.
Sunday begins with the King's Breakfast, accompanied by music from the Fanfare from neighboring Landesbergen — a proven ensemble at Schützenfests in the region. This is followed by the march to the main target, the King's shooting, the proclamation of the new royal family, lunch for the dignitaries, and a relaxed conclusion at the festival tent.
The Steimbke municipality comprises several villages with their own club landscape. The Schützenfest in Steimbke is the largest event of its kind and brings together the friendly marksmen's associations of the region — from Rodewald to Landesbergen — for a joint weekend of tradition.
The association will publish the detailed 2026 program in advance. The schedule follows the proven Steimbke tradition and combines competition, tradition, and sociability at the idyllic Waldbad.
