Soderstorf Marksmen's Association
The Soderstorf Marksmen's Association is the central pillar of marksmanship activities in the municipality of the same name. Like many marksmen's associations in the heath region, it cultivates sport shooting with small-bore rifles and air rifles, as well as social club life centered around the annual Schützenfest. The Schützenfest traditionally takes place on the third weekend of June. This fixed date in the annual calendar makes it a reliable focal point for club life. Friendly associations from the Amelinghausen municipality — Amelinghausen, Betzendorf, Oldendorf (Luhe), Rehlingen — participate in the festive procession. A family programme with a carousel and children's entertainment, as well as a Sunday morning pint (Frühschoppen), open the festival to the entire village.
