Schützenfest Schweimke

Over 165 Years of Marksmen Tradition

With its founding year of 1859, the Schweimke Marksmen's Association is one of the most traditional clubs in the Hankensbüttel municipality. For generations, members have cultivated the marksmen's culture, contributing significantly to the preservation of village life. The club structure includes active marksmen, a ladies' department, a youth section, and a core group of honorary members who shape club life.

Schweimke in the Heart of the Südheide

The Schweimke district is located a few kilometers south of the main town of Hankensbüttel and is surrounded by typical heathland with small forests, meadows, and fields. Its location on the edge of the Südheide Nature Park makes the region an attractive destination for hikers and nature lovers. The nearby Otter Centre Hankensbüttel and Lake Isenhagen are popular excursion destinations.

Festival Schedule

The marksmen's festival follows the classic structure of a North German marksmen's festival. Saturday features shooting competitions and a festive evening with dancing. Sunday begins with the assembly of the marksmen, followed by the king's shooting, the parade, and the proclamation of the king. The ceremonial conclusion is the King's Dinner with the club family.
