Shooting Tradition in Stadland
The municipality of Stadland in the northern Wesermarsch region is one of the areas where the shooting club tradition is particularly cherished. Several districts have their own shooting clubs that host their festival days annually. Reitland is one of these districts where club members organize the festival with a great deal of volunteer effort.
King's Shoot and Parade
The highlight is the King's Shoot, where the new shooting monarch is determined. Alongside this, trophy and youth shoots are held. The parade, usually accompanied by a marching band, winds through Reitland. Afterwards, the ceremonial crowning of the King takes place in front of the festival tent, complete with a crown, chain, and medal of honor.
Dancing and Refreshments
In the evening, the festival tent fills with families, members, and guests. Live music, cold draft beer, and hearty food ensure a lively atmosphere. Schützenfeste in the Wesermarsch are intergenerational events where young and old come together.

The 2026 edition falls on the third Saturday in June, marking the beginning of the North German Schützenfest season. The Reitland Shooting Club is preparing the festival with the usual lead time: festival tent, marching band, registration of shooters.

Getting There
Reitland is a district of Stadland in the northern Wesermarsch region. Arrive via the B 212 or the A 29 (exit Brake). Parking is signposted near the festival grounds.
On Site
The Schützenfest takes place at the Reitland shooting range and in the festival tent. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Catering
Bratwurst, fries, schnitzel, coffee, cake, draft beer, and non-alcoholic beverages are offered by the club.
