Schützenverein Over in Rosengarten
Over is a district of the municipality of Rosengarten in the western district of Harburg, located in close proximity to the Lüneburger Heide. The Schützenverein Over has been celebrating the annual Schützenfest for decades, which is an integral part of village life and connects generations.
Three Festival Days from July 24th to 26th, 2026
Friday to Sunday form the framework of the festival. Friday opens with the king's shooting and the first dance evening, Saturday brings the Großem Zapfenstreich and the king's ball, Sunday concludes with the parade, family day, Frühschoppen (morning pint), and the proclamation of the king.
King's Shooting and King's Proclamation
The highlight of every Schützenfest is the competition for the royal title. With the king's shooting on Friday, the new monarch is determined, who will help shape the club year and the next festival. The ceremonial proclamation on Sunday honours the new kings among the marksmen's family and the village community of Over.
Großer Zapfenstreich
The Großer Zapfenstreich on Saturday evening is one of the emotional highlights of the festival. As darkness falls, traditional music rings out under the torchlight, the marksmen kings are honoured, and the club banner is presented.
Parade, Family Day, and Festival Tent
The parade on Sunday leads the marksmen, the marching bands, and the invited neighbouring clubs through Over. Afterwards, the marksmen's family celebrates in the festival tent with live music; the family day offers a children's king's shooting, carousels, and a bouncy castle for the youngest guests.
Schützenfest Over — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the club's tradition. As every year, the entire village community of Over is invited to celebrate together for three days, from the king's shooting on Friday to the proclamation on Sunday.
The location on the edge of the Lüneburger Heide offers a special scenic setting for the Schützenfest.
