The Schützenfest Ovelgönne is one of the largest and most atmospheric Schützenfeste in the Wesermarsch. Unlike many purely internal club Schützenfeste, the Schützenverein Ovelgönne consciously focuses on a Volksfest character that appeals to the population of the community and the region far beyond club membership.

Fireworks on Friday Evening
A hallmark of the Ovelgönne Schützenfest is the fireworks on Friday evening at 10:15 PM on the fire department's training ground. The fireworks mark the festive opening of the festival weekend and attract a particularly large crowd every year. Families, club members, and guests gather at the training ground to experience the spectacle over the festival site.
Dodgems and Big Parties
The Schützenfest relies not only on club tradition but also on modern Volksfest entertainment: dodgems, other amusement rides, and big parties with live bands and DJs in the festival tent ensure a full house, especially in the evenings.
Parade and Citizens' Shooting Competition
During the day, the classic program points are the focus: a parade through Ovelgönne, a citizens' shooting competition with the participation of the entire population (not just club members), the king's shooting competition, the king's proclamation, and the king's dinner. Three Days of Sociability
