Ohrdorf – Village in the Wittingen Area

Ohrdorf is one of the districts of the town of Wittingen in the Gifhorn district. Like many districts in this rural region, the village has preserved its own identity, driven by local club life. The Ohrdorf Shooting Society is one of the central institutions of the village.

Three Days of Festivities

From Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 12th, 2026, there will be three days of celebration. Friday is dedicated to the children's Schützenfest, while Saturday and Sunday feature the main festival with all its classic elements. The festival tent will be set up on the shooting grounds, the marksmen will march in, and the village community will come together.

Children's Schützenfest on Friday

Like many shooting clubs in the region, Ohrdorf also cultivates its own children's Schützenfest. On Friday, the youngest members of the club compete for the title of Children's King or Queen. This passes on the tradition to the next generation and ensures the sustainability of the shooting tradition.

Main Festival with King's Shoot

Saturday focuses on the King's Shoot. The marksmen assemble, determine the new monarch, and celebrate the proclamation in grand style. Festival tent atmosphere, live music or DJ sets, and dance evenings characterize the evening programs.

Parade on Sunday

Sunday features the grand parade through Ohrdorf. Marksmen in uniform, a marching band, and friendly clubs from the Wittingen area march through the village along with the reigning monarch. Residents and guests line the streets.

Family Day and Conclusion

Sunday afternoon is dedicated to Family Day. Children's entertainment, carousels, food stalls, and a relaxed atmosphere round off the festival. The Schützenfest concludes in the late afternoon.
