Marklendorf Shooting Club 1908

The Marklendorf Shooting Club 1908 e.V. was founded at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, making it one of the older clubs in the Schwarmstedt municipality. Marklendorf is located on the outskirts of the Schwarmstedt municipality in the Allerland, a scenically attractive region between heathland and river meadows. The club shapes the social life of the district throughout the year with club shooting, club championships, and the preparation of the major Schützenfest.

Schützenfest as a Summer Highlight

The Schützenfest is the highlight of the club's year and shapes Marklendorf's social life for a festival weekend. The king's competition, a festive parade through the district, the coronation of the new shooting king, and the king's ball in the evening form the basic structure of the program. The festival is accompanied by live music in the festival tent, food stalls, and carousels for children.

Festive Parade

The festive parade on Saturday afternoon leads through Marklendorf's main street. Shooting companies in uniform, friendly clubs from Schwarmstedt and the surrounding area, pipe bands, and music groups march from the Schützenplatz through the village. The parade is well-attended and considered a visual highlight of the weekend.

King's Ball and Family Program

On Saturday evening, the King's Ball is celebrated in the festival tent. Live music accompanies the festivities late into the night. Sunday is family day with carousels, games, and a relaxed morning pint (Frühschoppen) in the festival tent.

Marklendorf belongs to the Schwarmstedt municipality, which brings together several communities in the south of the Heidekreis district.
