Shooting Tradition Since 1907

The Loxstedt Shooting Club of 1907 e.V. has been cultivating the shooting tradition in the Cuxland municipality of Loxstedt for over a century. Its annual festival, the traditional Schützenfest, is the highlight of the club year and one of the social and cultural focal points in Loxstedt.

June 13, 2026 — From 2 PM

The 2026 event will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The official start is at 2:00 PM in the Schützenhalle Am Bahnhof 1, 27612 Loxstedt. The hall offers a shooting range, a festival hall, and an outdoor area for reception and catering.

Air Rifle Shooting at the Wooden Eagle

The king's competition follows old tradition with an air rifle at the wooden eagle at a distance of 25 m. Whoever shoots down the last part of the eagle becomes the new shooting king. The discipline is also accessible to beginners and ensures that the Schützenfest attracts a lively, broad audience.

Parade and Evening Dance

As is customary at Lower Saxony Schützenfeste, the parade with a music band, flags, and the royal families is part of the traditional program. In the evening, there will be dancing in the festival hall — an opportunity for the entire community to come together.

Loxstedt in Cuxland

Loxstedt is a municipality with around 17,000 inhabitants in the district of Cuxhaven, directly south of Bremerhaven. Community life is characterized by active club activities — the shooting club is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the municipality.
