Two Districts, One Brotherhood

The St. Laurentius Holtrup-Langförden Shooting Brotherhood is the joint association structure of the two Vechta districts of Holtrup and Langförden. The patron of the brotherhood and the local parish church is Saint Lawrence. The brotherhood is responsible for preserving the traditions of both districts and is one of the most well-attended shooting associations in the city of Vechta.

Three-Day Festival Weekend 2026

While the more compact Saturday version (separate entry) only covers the main festival day, the extensive festival weekend in 2026 runs for three full days from Saturday, May 2nd to Monday, May 4th. This gives the brotherhood space for a complete program including the opening day, parade, king's shootout, king's proclamation, and a relaxed conclusion with a morning pint on Whit Monday.

BSV Vechta as March-In Partner

The BSV Vechta (Bürger-Schützen-Vereinigung Vechta) is one of the most important friendly associations. The meeting point for the march-in is on Saturday, May 2nd at 6 p.m. in Vechta, from where the BSV will march together to the Laurentiusplatz in Langförden. This mutual participation in each other's festivals underscores the cross-association network within the city area.

Laurentiusplatz in Front of the Parish Church

The Laurentiusplatz directly in front of the parish church of the same name forms the spatial and symbolic center of the festival. The festival tent, shooting range, club rooms, and parking spaces for friendly associations are distributed across the square. The proximity to the parish church emphasizes the Catholic-traditional character of the brotherhood.
