Season finale of the Schützenfeste in the Celle district — September 11th to 13th, 2026
Klein Hehlen is a northern district of Celle, bordering Groß Hehlen. Despite the shared name origin, each district has its own Schützengesellschaft (Marksmen's Association) with its own festival. The Klein Hehlen Marksmen's Association cultivates an independent club identity with decades of history.
The Schützenfest season in the Celle district traditionally begins in April/May and ends in September. The Schützenfest Klein Hehlen, held on the second weekend of September 2026, marks the season finale of the major Schützenfeste in the region. Anyone wishing to celebrate the end of the season in style shouldn't miss the Klein Hehlen festival.
The Klein Hehlen Marksmen's Association is not just the organizer of an annual festival but also a bearer of broad district culture: shooting sports, youth work, camaraderie, and the preservation of historical marksmen uniforms. The royal throne, with the reigning king and queen, their knights, and the court, represents the association externally — at parades, Schützenfeste in neighboring clubs, and official occasions.
From September 11th to 13th, 2026, guests can expect the usual three-day program: an opening dance, the king's shooting with proclamation of the new royal couple, a festival ball with live music, a parade on Sunday through Klein Hehlen, and a concluding morning pint. The festival tent offers catering with traditional Schützenfest fare and ensures the typical convivial atmosphere.
The detailed 2026 program will be published by the Marksmen's Association in advance. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Klein Hehlen is a northern district of Celle. By car via the B 3 (Celle–Soltau). Parking is available at the Schützenplatz (festival grounds) and in the surrounding streets.
Admission fees for evening dances apply on-site. The parade and morning pint are freely accessible.
As a season-ending Schützenfest, it's a special experience — many marksmen from the entire district use the festival to bid farewell to the season.
