Schützenfest in the West of the Celle District

The municipality of Hambühren is located in the western district of Celle and, with its districts Hambühren I, Hambühren II, and Ovelgönne, is an important rural location in the region. Situated in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath, the village is characterized by the pendulum between nature, residential areas, and a rural-traditional community.

Hambühren Marksmen's Association

The Hambühren Marksmen's Association (Schützenverein Hambühren e.V.) is one of the largest associations in the village. Its annual Schützenfest is one of the most important dates in the municipal calendar and brings together several generations.

Three Days of Program

For three days, the classic program points of a North German Schützenfest are observed:

• Parade through the village with marksmen, marching band, fanfares, and clubs
• King's shooting and a festive king's proclamation
• Children's Schützenfest with its own competitions
• Festival tent with live music and dancing
• Sunday morning pint (Frühschoppen) on Sunday
• Accompanying snacks, catering, and small amusement rides
