Schützenfest Golzwarden — Celebrating 75 Years of Club History
With its 75th anniversary, the Golzwarder Schützenverein e.V. is celebrating a special club year in 2026. The club was founded in 1951 in the post-war years and has since shaped the social and cultural life of the Golzwarden district — today part of the town of Brake (Unterweser) in the Wesermarsch district. The anniversary Schützenfest 2026 will be held from July 3rd to 5th in a large festival tent on St.-Florian-Straße.
Prelude with Ceremony in the Bartholomäuskirche
The official festival prelude takes place on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, with a festive Kommers (traditional ceremony) in the Golzwarden Bartholomäuskirche. The Kommers is a traditional ceremony with speeches, honors, musical contributions, and the presentation of awards to long-standing members. The choice of the historic Bartholomäuskirche as the venue lends the Kommers a particularly solemn atmosphere.
Anniversary Schützenfest from July 3rd to 5th
The actual anniversary Schützenfest runs from Friday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 5th, 2026, in the large festival tent on St.-Florian-Straße. Over three days, visitors can expect a shooting march, king's shooting, dance evening, parade, morning pint (Frühschoppen), family day, and the anniversary shooting specifically called for the anniversary.
Anniversary Shooting with Honors on Saturday Evening
The highlight of the anniversary Schützenfest is the anniversary shooting awards ceremony on Saturday evening, July 4th, around 8:30 PM. The winners of the anniversary shooting will be honored in the festival tent — a special award in an anniversary year that will not be repeated.
Parade and Dance Evening
The parade through Golzwarden, accompanied by marching bands, fellow shooting clubs, and floats, is one of the emotional highlights. In the evening, live bands take over the festival tent — dance evenings with Schlager, rock, and party music provide the dance floor for the festival community.
A Festival for All of Golzwarden
The anniversary Schützenfest is a meeting point for club members, families, clubs, fellow brotherhoods, and guests from the entire Wesermarsch region. The local clubs, the volunteer fire department, and the church community actively support the festival week.

With the anniversary Schützenfest, the Golzwarder Schützenverein celebrates its 75th anniversary. The board and the festival committee have been planning an extended program for months, including a Kommers, anniversary shooting, and special ceremonies. The Bartholomäuskirche as the venue for the Kommers and the large festival tent on St.-Florian-Straße form the two central stages.
