Two-day Pentecost Schützenfest of the Flachstöckheim Shooting Sports Association
With just under 1,000 inhabitants, Flachstöckheim is a rather small district of Salzgitter, but it cultivates a lively club life. The Flachstöckheim Shooting Sports Association e.V. is one of the central sporting pillars here and traditionally hosts its Schützenfest on the Pentecost weekend. The choice of this date, which often coincides with good spring weather, has proven to be a stroke of luck over the years.
Compared to the large four-day Schützenfests in the Salzgitter districts, the festival is deliberately kept manageable. On Saturday, the competitions begin with bird shooting, king shooting, and various citizen competitions. In the evening, a convivial dance evening follows in the festival tent or club house. On Sunday, the programme includes a festive church service, the proclamation of the king, and a small parade. A joint meal with the king and queen marks the conclusion.
The Flachstöckheim Shooting Sports Association is a member of the Salzgitter District Shooting Association (Kreisschützenverband Salzgitter) and participates in supra-local competitions and the annual City Marksmen's Day (Stadtschützentag). The club house with shooting ranges offers the opportunity for regular training and club evenings throughout the year.
The 2026 edition continues the annual tradition. The Pentecost timing of the festival promises pleasant spring weather and an ideal setting for outdoor competitions as well as the convivial evening in the festival tent. Members, families, and guests from the surrounding districts of Lesse, Beinum, and Cramme are warmly welcome.
The exact programme for 2026 will be published by the organiser in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
