Village Schützenfest on the fourth weekend of July — July 25 to 27, 2026
The SV Erpen-Timmern hosts its Schützenfest every year on the fourth weekend of July. The venue is the traditional Schützenplatz Zum Schützenplatz 13 in the Erpen-Timmern district of the town Dissen am Teutoburger Wald. For three days, the festival grounds are the center of village life.
The 2026 edition runs from Saturday, July 25, to Monday, July 27. The format of a three-day Schützenfest allows for the detailed celebration of all traditional elements: festival evening, bird shooting, parade, King's dinner, and family day.
As is customary for Schützenfeste in the Teutoburger Wald, the festival includes a clear traditional program: bird shooting, election of the new king, proclamation of the new royal couple, parade through the district, King's dinner, dance evening with a live band, morning pint (Frühschoppen), and family day. The Schützen catering provides for guests throughout the three days.
The club is a member of the Schützenkreis Teutoburger Wald (WSB 1861). During the parade, friendly clubs, fanfares, and pipe bands from the association participate — a visible demonstration of regional club cohesion.
Dissen am Teutoburger Wald is known nationwide as the home of the delicatessen manufacturer Homann, but it is also one of the communities with a vibrant shooting tradition. The Erpen-Timmern district is located on the southern edge of the town — and the Schützenfest is the social highlight of the village year.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the club before the festival. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
