Tradition of Marksmen by the Elbe

The Schützenfest Bleckede is one of the most important summer festivals in the Elbe town. The Schützengilde Bleckede e.V. organizes the four-day folk festival, which takes place from Thursday, July 16, to Sunday, July 19, 2026, on the Bleckede fairgrounds.

With a Market

A special feature of Bleckede: The Schützenfest is traditionally accompanied by a market. Stalls and showmen line Bleckede's town center — visitors can combine a stroll through the market with a visit to the festival grounds.

Four Days of Festivities

The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:

• Thursday, July 16: Muster of the guild, opening of the festival, festival evening
• Friday, July 17: Bird shooting and determination of the king, dance evening
• Saturday, July 18: Grand parade through Bleckede, proclamation of the king, king's dinner, ball
• Sunday, July 19: Family day with Frühshoppen, market, children's program, winding down
• Throughout: Rides, shooting galleries, food and drink stands

Bleckede is located directly on the Elbe and, with its approximately 9,500 inhabitants, is the center of an agriculturally characterized region. The Schützenfest combines rural tradition with the charm of the Elbe town — and is a meeting point for the guilds of the surrounding area.
