Schützenfest ASV Kierspe — Bergisches Club Life on Amselweg
From August 21 to 23, 2026, ASV Kierspe 1924 e.V. will celebrate its traditional Schützenfest. The venue is the ASV shooting center at Amselweg 5 in the Bergisches highland town of Kierspe. Three days of club tradition, shooting competitions, a festival tent, and live music — and most importantly: free admission on all days.
A Club with Over 100 Years of History
The ASV Kierspe 1924 e.V. was founded — as the name suggests — over a century ago. The shooting clubhouse on Amselweg serves as the club's central hub for shooting competitions, club celebrations, and the annual Schützenfest. ASV is one of several Kierspe shooting clubs and maintains its own tradition with target shooting, club championships, and customs.
Program Components of a Classic Schützenfest
As with many Bergisches Schützenfeste, the following components are part of the weekend:
- Festival tent with live music and DJ on the weekend
- King's shooting — the royal title is determined in a shooting competition
- Parade through Kierspe with shooting club uniforms, flags, and music clubs
- Beer service with regional brands
- Snacks and food from club events
- Dance and party evenings on Friday and Saturday nights
Kierspe — Bergisches Town in the Märkisches Sauerland
Kierspe is located in the Märkischer Kreis in the southern part of the Bergisches Land — at an altitude between 250 and 470 meters. With a population of just over 16,000 and a history as a cloth and hardware town, Kierspe is part of the classic Bergisches low mountain range region. Schützenfeste have a particularly dense tradition here: several clubs hold Schützenfeste, May shooting events, and club evenings throughout the year.
Getting There and Practical Information
By car via the A45 (exit Lüdenscheid-Süd, then B54) or the L693 from Halver. By train: Brügge (Westf.) station, then bus 295/258 to Kierspe. Parking available directly at the shooting center.
