Extended traditional festival with preliminary and children's shooting festival — June 27 to July 4, 2026
The Bersenbrück Shooting Club of 1850 is one of the most traditional shooting clubs in the Artland, looking back on 175 years of club history. This makes the club one of the oldest in the region and a central pillar of cultural life in Bersenbrück.
The 2026 edition is planned with an extended festival format: Preliminary shooting on June 27 (from 2:30 PM) and Children's Shooting Festival on July 4 (from 2:30 PM) mark the beginning and end of a shooting festival event that spans over a week. This extension allows all traditional and shooting competition elements to be cultivated in a relaxed manner.
The preliminary shooting on Saturday, June 27, from 2:30 PM, is the traditional kickoff: competitions among club members for the king's title and honor shields are decided in the run-up to the main festival. A format that focuses on the sporting character of the shooting competition.
Between the preliminary shooting and the children's shooting festival lie the main festival days with bird shooting, a parade through Bersenbrück, king's proclamation, king's dinner, and a dance evening with a live band. The exact daily schedules will be published by the club in spring 2026.
The Children's Shooting Festival on Saturday, July 4, from 2:30 PM, is a lovely tradition: children and young people shoot for the children's king title, playfully get to know the traditions, and are introduced to club life. An important format for the club's youth development.
Bersenbrück is the main town of the Artland municipality and is located in the northern Osnabrück region. With its historic monastery park, central market square, and active club scene, the town forms the cultural center of the Artland.
The extended festival format follows the proven structure:
