Lehrte's Marksmen Tradition
The Schützengesellschaft Lehrte is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the city. Its annual Volks- und Schützenfest is the social highlight of the summer and shapes the town's appearance for four days. With uniforms, flags, music groups, and a large festival tent, the Schützengesellschaft is a visible manifestation of lived club culture.

Festival Weekend
The main part extends from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 2, 2026. Classic components include:
- Thursday: Opening and assembly of the marksmen, first dance evening
- Friday: Club evening, live music in the festival tent
- Saturday: Schützenfrühstück in the morning (advance booking required), bird shooting, grand Schützenausmarsch, in the evening King's proclamation and dance evening
- Sunday: Festival dinner, family program, closing parade, winding down
Festival Grounds and Atmosphere
The Schützenfest grounds offer the infrastructure for a large festival tent, several amusement rides (Ferris wheel, carousels, bumper cars), shooting ranges, and gastronomic stands. The festival is a meeting point for families, club members, former residents of Lehrte, and guests from the region.
