Isenbüttel – Seat of the Samtgemeinde

Isenbüttel is the seat of the municipality of the same name in the Gifhorn district and, with around 4,800 inhabitants, is one of the medium-sized communities in the region. The annual Schützen- und Volksfest has a particularly long tradition here: with the 174th edition in 2026, the festival's history dates back to the mid-19th century.

BSC Isenbüttel as Organizer

The BSC Isenbüttel (Bürgerschützen-Corps) organizes the festival. The club, embedded in the tradition of German marksmanship, has modernized the program in recent years to appeal to a younger audience without abandoning the classic elements. Shooting competitions, the proclamation of the king, and the festival parade remain mandatory; in addition, there are modern live bands and catering concepts.

Live Band UpToDate on Saturday Evening

On Saturday evening of the 2026 Schützenfest, the band UpToDate will play – an established cover and party band that appeals to a broad audience with its current pop and rock repertoire. Tickets for the UpToDate concert are limited and available via the BSC website (bsc-isenbuettel.de/utd26).

Bürgerfrühstück with Big Band Tappenbeck

On Sunday morning, the Bürgerfrühstück will take place – a culinary and social event accompanied musically by the Big Band Tappenbeck. The Big Band Tappenbeck is a well-known formation in the region with a swing, jazz, and show repertoire. Tickets for the breakfast are also limited (bsc-isenbuettel.de/bf26).

Classic Elements and Grand Parade

In addition to the innovations, the classic elements remain: king's shooting, proclamation of the new monarch, the grand festival parade on Sunday, and the traditional king's dinner. Friendly shooting clubs from the Samtgemeinde Isenbüttel (Calberlah, Wasbüttel, Ribbesbüttel) and the wider Gifhorn district will march along.
