Schützen- und Volksfest Hänigsen — Summer Festival at Steindamm

The Bürgerschützenverein Hänigsen e.V. of 1925 preserves the marksmen's tradition in the Uetze district of Hänigsen with two annual festivals. The multi-day Schützenfest in June is the association's main event, featuring a king's shoot, a parade, and all the classic elements of a Lower Saxon marksmen's festival. The Schützen- und Volksfest on August 15th is the compact addition — a one-day summer festival that brings the association into the spotlight a second time each year.

Hänigsen Festival Grounds at Steindamm 28

The venue is the Hänigsen festival grounds at Steindamm 28. A festival tent will be erected here, and it will host catering, live music, and social gatherings. Its location on Steindamm — one of Hänigsen's central streets — makes the festival grounds easily accessible for villagers and creates a direct connection between the festival and village life.

Compact Summer Festival Program

Starting at 3:30 PM, the festival focuses on a late afternoon and evening schedule. Families can attend in the afternoon, but the main part of the festival takes place in the evening — with live music in the festival tent, catering, possibly dancing, and a Volksfest atmosphere. This condensed format makes the festival an accessible summer experience that doesn't require a multi-day commitment.

In Hänigsen's Anniversary Year

2026 is a special year for Hänigsen — the district celebrates its 800th anniversary with a grand village jubilee at the end of April and beginning of May. The Schützen- und Volksfest on August 15th is part of this anniversary year and offers another opportunity to experience the village community — this time in a more informal, summery, and folk-like setting. For guests from the Hannover region, it is a welcome chance to experience a traditional club festival in a condensed format.
