Overview

In 2025, the Schreez Fruit and Garden Association once again invited visitors on the second Sunday in July (July 13) to the village square in Unternschreez. From the lunch buffet featuring Schäufele from the wood-fired oven to cakes in the afternoon and Flammkuchen in the evening, the program was as usual – a familiar Franconian village festival atmosphere in the Bayreuth district.

The 2025 Backofenfest began at 10:30 AM with a church service at the community center. By lunchtime, the village square was already bustling with guests from Haag, Schreez, and the surrounding area. The association members served Schäufele and Sauerbraten directly from the wood-fired oven, along with dumplings and salads.

In the afternoon, the Schreez youth dance groups performed, while the cake buffet was served in the festival tent. From 5 PM, the association's bakers switched to making Flammkuchen – classic, vegetarian, and with fish – accompanied by Püttner beer and Franconian wines. In 2025, this continued a village tradition that has grown over many years.
