The Hambach district of Neustadt an der Weinstraße is one of the most historic wine-growing villages in the Palatinate. Nestled between vineyards and the Palatinate Forest, the village lies at the foot of Hambach Castle, considered the cradle of German democracy. In the shadow of this landmark, generations of wine-growing families have dedicated themselves to viticulture — especially Riesling, which produces particularly mineralic, long-lasting wines here on colorful sandstone and shell limestone.
