Classical concert season in the Festival Hall of Bückeburg Castle with Julian Steckel, Sharon Kam, Boris Kusnezow, and other performers
For decades, the Schaumburger Schlosskonzerte have been among the most important concert series in Lower Saxony. The Festival Hall of Bückeburg Castle, with its historically developed acoustics and unique architectural dignity, offers a concert venue that is appreciated by artists from all over the world. The 2026 season brings together three concert evenings that showcase the full spectrum of chamber music in their programming.
The season opens on February 11, 2026, with Julian Steckel, one of the most renowned cellists of his generation. Steckel has made a name for himself with his interpretive artistry in both the grand orchestral repertoire and chamber music. His solo concert in the Bückeburg Festival Hall promises a special encounter with the sound of his historical instrument in an acoustically optimal setting.
On April 22, 2026, Sharon Kam (Clarinet) and Boris Kusnezow (Piano) will perform. Sharon Kam is one of the internationally outstanding clarinetists; she has been invited by leading orchestras and chamber music festivals worldwide for years. With Boris Kusnezow, who is shaping the 2026 season as a returning partner, she is joined by a pianist who enjoys the highest esteem in the chamber music scene.
The season concludes on June 17, 2026, with a high-caliber chamber music ensemble: Naoko Aoki and Airi Suzuki on violins, Jano Lisboa on viola, Wen-Sinn Yang on cello, and again Boris Kusnezow on piano. This configuration allows for the grand piano quintet repertoire and promises a concert evening of exceptional quality.
The 2026 season design exemplifies the programming of the Schaumburger Schlosskonzerte: internationally renowned soloists, top-level chamber music, and the recurring pianist Boris Kusnezow as a connecting element for the three evenings.
The Festival Hall of Bückeburg Castle offers an ideal concert environment; the number of seats is limited, which enhances the intimate atmosphere of these concerts. Early booking is recommended.
