Summer Weinkerwe in Ruppertsberg with wines from the famous Palatinate sites Reiterpfad, Hoheburg, and Linsenbusch on the last weekend of August
Ruppertsberg lies between Deidesheim and Haßloch, just a few kilometers from the Palatinate's most famous wine locations — and possesses sites that attract worldwide attention. The Reiterpfad is one of the most prestigious Riesling sites in the Mittelhaardt, complemented by Hoheburg and Linsenbusch, which add to the top-tier portfolio. Several VDP members and established family wineries shape the image of this Palatinate wine village.
The Ruppertsberger Weinkerwe is a classic village Kerwe with all the Palatinate customs: raising the Kerwe tree on Friday, full operation on the weekend, Frühschoppen (morning pint) on Kerwe Sunday, the Kerweredd (festival speech) in Palatinate dialect, and the festival winding down on the blue Kerwemontag (festival Monday).
The vintners of Ruppertsberg are pouring their current vintages. The focus is on dry Rieslings from the grand cru sites — powerful wines with mineral depth, which fortunately are not only served in Berlin's Michelin-starred restaurants but also at the village Kerwe in Ruppertsberg. Alongside these are Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Rosé wines, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Sekt (sparkling wine) — the full spectrum of Palatinate wine culture.
The last weekend of August in the Palatinate marks the transition from high summer to September, the month before the harvest. The vines carry full bunches, the harvest is imminent, the days are still warm, and the evenings are already cooler. An ideal period to celebrate a Palatinate Kerwe extensively.
The 2026 edition continues the established Kerwe format: Friday opening with the raising of the Kerwe tree, full operation on the weekend, Frühschoppen on Kerwe Sunday, and the blue Kerwemontag as a closing event.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure will follow the proven cornerstones of previous years.
