Later Carnival procession in Bruchhausen (VG Unkel) starting at 3:11 PM
The municipality of Bruchhausen belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Unkel in the southwestern district of Neuwied. Like many places in the region, Bruchhausen fosters a vibrant club life, in which the local carnival society plays a defining role. The Rosenmontagszug is the highlight of the carnival season and is supported by many helpers from all over the village.
With a start time of 3:11 PM, Bruchhausen is one of the region's "latecomers." Those who were previously in Scheuren (11:11 AM), Linz, Engers, Gladbach, Irlich, or Kleinmaischeid (all 2:11 PM) can head to Bruchhausen to experience another parade. The later start time is also attractive for families who want to begin the day at a relaxed pace.
The procession winds through the main street of Bruchhausen's town center. Dancing groups, floats, walking groups, music bands, and friendly carnival groups from the region participate. "Kamellen" (sweets) are traditionally thrown, and the atmosphere is village-like, without the hustle and bustle of the big carnival strongholds, but with a full love for Rhenish traditions.
Bruchhausen complements the carnival landscape on the southern Middle Rhine with a well-attended late procession. Carnival enthusiasts from the right bank of the Rhine, the neighboring Bonn-Beuel area, and the Verbandsgemeinde Unkel find a fixed date in the carnival calendar here.
The route and lineup will be published by the organizer in February 2026. The later start time complements the carnival landscape on the southern Middle Rhine with an attractive end to the day.
