Rockpalast Open Air Loreley

WDR Rockpalast is one of the oldest and most renowned music TV shows in Europe — produced since 1974, the format has documented over half a century of rock history. Rockpalast concerts have been broadcast worldwide and have been formative for many bands and their careers. The Loreley Open Air Stage has repeatedly been the venue for Rockpalast open-airs since the late 1970s — concerts with Frank Zappa, Joe Jackson, Bob Dylan, and many others have become iconic.

The Rockpalast Open Air Loreley events are organized by WDR Rockpalast in collaboration with Loreley Concerts. The dates are rare — not every summer has its own Rockpalast Open Air — which makes each edition particularly valuable. The concerts are recorded for the ARD TV program and, if applicable, the ARD media library, giving the artists nationwide visibility.

According to Songkick, a Rockpalast date is announced for July 25th, 2026. The lineup is not yet fully known at the time of going to press — Rockpalast typically publishes artists a few months before the concert date. Based on experience, it will be a mix of international headliners and selected bands, which has become the format's trademark — handcrafted rock music, often with live album potential.

For rock fans from all over Germany and Central Europe, a Rockpalast Open Air at the Loreley is a must-attend event. The combination of a UNESCO World Heritage backdrop, TV recording, and a curated lineup makes the format unique.
