Born from a Birthday

Rock im Moor originated in 2001 when members of a regional band wanted to celebrate a birthday with a small concert in Boberow's Mellener Weg – because concert opportunities in the Prignitz region were limited. The one-day concert grew over the years into a two-day festival, which is now a regular event on the Prignitz festival calendar. The organizers are a local group of dedicated individuals who continue to organize the festival independently – without major sponsors, with a volunteer crew.

Rambower Torfmoor as a Venue

The venue is Mellener Weg 3 in Boberow, a district of Karstädt, on the edge of the Rambower Torfmoor nature reserve. This landscape setting shapes the character of the festival: not urban club sound, but open-air with forests and moorland behind; not a polished festival mile, but an improvised meadow with a stage, bar, and camping. It is precisely this mix that makes Rock im Moor a hidden gem for anyone looking for Brandenburg festivals away from the music industry.

Line-up and Genres

The program includes 10-12 bands from the Alternative, Punk, Metal, and Crossover spectrum. In 2026, Chapter X, Astropunks, Soko Linx, B6BBO, and Larrikins will be on stage on Friday; Sonic Soup, Brutal Besoffen, Blitzeinbruch, Fraupaul, Franks White Canvas, and Annexation on Saturday. The line-up mixes regional acts with national and occasionally international artists.

Festival Character

With around 1,000 visitors, Rock im Moor is small enough for a family atmosphere – many regulars have been traveling from Berlin, Hamburg, and Schwerin for years. Camping is possible on site, catering is organized independently, and the atmosphere is DIY and cheerfully alcoholic. Tickets from €25, single day tickets and weekend passes available.
