About RheinVokal

The RheinVokal Festival is one of the most important vocal and symphony concert festivals in Germany. Over three months – from mid-June to the end of August – the festival presents classical vocal music, symphony concerts, sacred music, and lieder at various venues in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The opening concert in 2026 will take place on June 14th in the Rhein-Mosel-Halle in Koblenz: the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern will perform works by Sibelius and Mahler under the title 'Mythenklänge'.

The RheinVokal Festival has been a firm fixture in the classical music scene of the Middle Rhine for years. The festival utilizes the unique atmosphere of historical venues in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley – castles, palaces, abbeys, and baroque churches – as settings for its high-quality program.

Concept

The focus is on vocal music in all its forms: oratorios, masses, song cycles, a cappella works, but also symphony concerts with vocal accompaniment. The musical spectrum ranges from medieval vocal polyphony through the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic periods to modern and avant-garde music.
