Over 600 Years of Dult Tradition
The Regensburger Dult evolved from a medieval church fair into a major regional folk festival. With over 600 years of tradition, it is one of Bavaria's most historic festivals. Two Dulten take place annually: the Maidult in spring and the Herbstdult in late summer in the city of Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate.
The Festival Grounds on the Danube
The venue is the Dultplatz at Protzenweiher in the Stadtamhof district, directly on the Danube. The spacious grounds feature two large festival tents, as well as traditional fish grills and cosy beer gardens. The festival tents open daily from 11 a.m.
Folk Festival, Amusement Park, and Goods Market
The Dult comprises several components: the amusement Dult with rides and attractions, the festival tent experience with Bavarian festival culture, and the goods market (Warendult), where vendors from all over Germany offer their wares. A traditional parade traditionally opens the festivities.
