10 weeks of summer at Kögel-Willms-Platz — April 29 to July 5, 2026
The Rasteder Sommergarten is a true premiere for the 2026 season. The organizer is Residenzort Rastede GmbH, which is establishing the concept as a long-term summer meeting place at Kögel-Willms-Platz: ten weeks of open-air atmosphere with gastronomy, stage program, and floral design in the middle of the city center.
The first edition runs from April 29 to July 5, 2026. It is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 p.m., with long summer days, open-air concerts on weekends, and quieter weekdays for a café and bistro atmosphere. Numerous program highlights are spread across the ten weeks — from family Sundays to live concerts.
The concept combines several elements: gastronomy with food trucks and a bistro area, music with changing live acts and DJ sets, a bungee trampoline for children and teenagers, and sophisticated floral decorations that transform the square into a summery garden. Admission is free — you only pay for food, drinks, and individual attractions.
Rastede is increasingly positioning itself as an attractive place to live and visit between Oldenburg and the North Sea coast. The Sommergarten complements the festival offerings (International Music Days, Family Sunday) and creates a relaxed summer meeting place that is sustainable for several weeks.
The program is spread over 10 weeks — the highlights:
