The Ramsteiner Oktoberfest has been a firm fixture in late October for years and is one of the largest commercial Oktoberfests in the Westpfalz region. The venue is the Congress Center Ramstein (CCR), one of the most important event venues in the region. Every year, a large, heated festival tent is erected on the central square at the CCR, which can accommodate several hundred guests.
Ramstein-Miesenbach
The twin town of Ramstein-Miesenbach is the administrative seat of the municipality of the same name and is primarily known internationally for the nearby US military Air Base Ramstein. The population with a Palatinate background mixes here with guests from the US military environment, which gives the Oktoberfest a special international flair.
Festival Tent Atmosphere
The festival tent offers all the classics of the Bavarian Oktoberfest: long rows of tables with beer benches, decorated columns, hop garlands, blue and white banners, and a central stage. Dirndls and Lederhosen are explicitly welcome, and service is provided by trained service staff. The menu includes Schweinshax'n (pork knuckle), Hendl (roast chicken), Brezeln (pretzels), Obatzda (cheese spread), Weißwurst (white sausage), and Currywurst - and of course, draft beer.
Three Live Evenings
The program includes three live concert evenings. Friday and Sunday are traditionally reserved for tradition-conscious bands, while Saturday is the big party night with a Westpfalz party band. Table reservations are highly recommended, especially for Saturday evening.
Getting There
The CCR is located directly on the B 270 federal highway and is accessible via the A 62 motorway (Ramstein-Miesenbach exit). Ramstein can be reached by bus from Kaiserslautern (lines 173, 174), and by train via Landstuhl main station followed by a bus connection.
