Musical fireworks duel in front of the F60 conveyor bridge
The F60 conveyor bridge near Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf is a behemoth: 502 meters long, 80 meters high — the largest moving machine in the world by volume, built for lignite mining. Today, as the F60 Visitor Mine, it is an industrial monument of European significance. Precisely this backdrop makes the location a pyrotechnician's dream — and for years, the venue for the Pyro Games, a touring format across Germany where several pyrotechnic teams compete for the audience's favor.
The 2026 edition will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Admission from 6 PM, a stage program with live music fills the evening, the main show starts after sunset (around 9:30 PM/10:00 PM). Three pyrotechnic shows compete for audience favor, complemented by a laser show. The organizer is Pyro Games GmbH, ticket sales via reservix.de and universe.com.
Each participating team designs a pyrotechnic choreography to their own musical selection — classical, rock, film music, pop mashup. The audience judges via applause or app voting. Between the competition shows, there's a break with a stage program, ensuring the evening flows without lulls. The finale often features a combined show where all teams ignite a grand finale together.
What sets Pyro Games at F60 apart from other pyro events: The conveyor bridge itself becomes part of the show. The steel structure rises into the night sky, effects are placed to frame the structure like a silhouette against the fire. The mining veteran as a pyrotechnic stage — one of the strangest and most beautiful ideas in the German festival landscape.
Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf is located in the district of Elbe-Elster in Brandenburg, on the border with Lower Lusatia. The region is undergoing structural change — from coal mining to tourism and recreation. Pyro Games at F60 is among the events that make this transformation visible and keep the industrial monument known regionally.
The specific team list and stage artists will be announced by the organizer Pyro Games shortly before the event.
