PuPaPo — three days of Punk, Party, and Poetry

The PuPaPo Festival is a three-day indoor festival in Düsseldorf that uncompromisingly brings together the seemingly contradictory worlds of punk music, dance parties, and literary poetry. From February 6 to 8, 2026, the 4th edition will take place at WELTKUNSTZIMMER Düsseldorf (Ronsdorfer Str. 77a, Düsseldorf-Flingern). With only 200 festival tickets, the format deliberately remains intimate — not an anonymous mass event, but a weekend community.

Three Days of Program

Each festival day has its own focus:

• Friday, February 6 — Punk Concerts: Doors open 7:00 PM, start 8:00 PM — with Katastrophen Kommando, Schrottgrenze (Indie-punk legend from Hamburg), and Elfmorgen. Acoustic side act as warm-up.
• Saturday, February 7 — Party Headliners: Doors open 5:00 PM, start 6:00 PM — with LIEDFETT (Folk-punk-indie from Hamburg), Awesome Scampies, LILI, and Udo Butter und das Team. Plus poetry slam with local and visiting slam poets.
• Sunday, February 8 — Poetry and Musical Reading: Doors open 12:00 PM, start 1:00 PM — Main act: Butterwegge, Neuser & Zimmermann, a literary-musical reading by political scientist Christoph Butterwegge with his band.

WELTKUNSTZIMMER — the Subculture Stage

The WELTKUNSTZIMMER is one of Düsseldorf's most important independent cultural venues — a former warehouse and industrial hall in Flingern, which today hosts concerts, performances, exhibitions, and discourse events. The raw industrial aesthetic provides the perfect backdrop for the punk/DIY character of the PuPaPo Festival.

More Than Concerts — Art, Food, Politics

The festival is consciously more than just a concert weekend:

• Art exhibitions in the side rooms of WELTKUNSTZIMMER
• Vegan food truck with local connections
• Charity merch stalls — proceeds for social and political initiatives
• Vinyl and CD shop with punk, hardcore, and indie releases
• Punk fashion stalls with patches, buttons, T-shirts
• Mini-market with political buttons, stickers, and books

Düsseldorf-Flingern — the Subculture Hood

Since the 1970s, Düsseldorf-Flingern has been the alternative heart of the state capital. Galleries, independent stages, record stores, vegan cafes, and political initiatives are concentrated here. The PuPaPo Festival is deeply embedded in this scene and works closely with WELTKUNSTZIMMER, AK47 (Vegan Collective Kitchen), punk rock collectives, and feminist initiatives.
