Prüm Rosenmontag Procession

The Prüm Rosenmontag procession is the central carnival event in the Eifel town of Prüm and one of the largest carnival processions in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm district. The organizer is the Prümer KG 1881 e.V., which, as a carnival society, has been cultivating and developing local customs in Prüm for over 140 years.

The Prüm Carnival Society was founded in 1881, making it one of the oldest carnival societies in the Eifel region. Over the generations, it has shaped the festive spirit in Prüm and fostered regional carnival culture as a blend of tradition, social togetherness, and exuberant celebration.

Rosenmontag Procession on February 16, 2026

The highlight of the 2025/2026 carnival season is the Rosenmontag procession on February 16, 2026, starting at 1:11 PM. The procession moves through Prüm's city center with carnival societies from Prüm and the surrounding area, walking groups, music bands, floats, and plenty of 'Kamellen' (sweets). The exact route will be announced in advance; assembly will take place in the town area, with the march traditionally starting at 1:11 PM.

Accompanying Program for the 2025/2026 Season

The Rosenmontag procession is part of a broader season program:

• Tuesday, February 8, 2026: Senior Carnival in the Karolingerhalle (free admission) – a carnival celebration for the older generation with a program, coffee, and cake.
• Thursday, February 12, 2026, 2:00 PM: "Jeck im Zelt" at Ford-Madison-Platz – a large youth and adult party (ages 18+) in the festival tent.
• Monday, February 16, 2026, 1:11 PM: Rosenmontag procession through Prüm's city center.
• Monday, February 16, 2026, after the procession: After-Parade Party.

Ticketing

Tickets for paid indoor events (especially "Jeck im Zelt") are exclusively available through the Ditix.io platform. The Rosenmontag procession itself is free to attend.
