Rock'n'Roll Vibe in a Medieval Setting
The Prichsenstadt Classics is one of the most beautiful vintage car events in Lower Franconia. The concept is clear: »Rock meets the Classics« – vintage and youngtimer cars meet 1950s Rock'n'Roll music, vintage fashion, and a touch of hot rod romance. The setting is extraordinary: the perfectly preserved medieval old town of Prichsenstadt, with its town walls, towers, and compact half-timbered buildings, provides the backdrop.
Program Components
The festival runs for two days and consists of several interconnected components:
- Organized Rally for registered vintage cars on Saturday morning through the Franconian countryside
- Live Music by the Honkytones – a Rockabilly cover band that musically defines the festival
- Fashion Show by Killerkirsche – a vintage and pin-up fashion label
- Rock'n'Roll Dancing on Saturday evening in the market square
- Vintage Car Market on Sunday with spare parts, memorabilia, and classic cars for sale
- Food Truck Mile with American diner cuisine, burgers, hot dogs, and sweet classics
- Live Music by All 4 Music on Sunday afternoon
- Meefrüchdli – a Franconian cover band – brings regional energy to the program
The Honkytones – Festival House Band
The Honkytones are the musical soul of the festival. The cover band specializes in 1950s Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, and Country Boogie, playing Elvis, Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. They perform on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM under the motto »Rock Meets the Classics«. The band is a well-known name in the vintage music scene in Franconia and Bavaria.
Prichsenstadt – Medieval Small Town in the Steigerwald
With around 3,000 inhabitants, Prichsenstadt is one of Bavaria's smallest towns – and at the same time, one of the best-preserved medieval townscapes. The town wall with three gates and several towers, the main street with its half-timbered houses, and the central market square form an unusually cohesive urban image. Prichsenstadt is located on the western edge of the Steigerwald forest, in the rural Mainfränkische Platte (Kitzingen district). Other well-known events in the town include the traditional wine festival »Wein im Frein« and the Advent market.
