Castle Park as a Green Living Room

The Ponitz Renaissance Castle in the Altenburger Land district, on the border with Saxony, is one of Eastern Thuringia's most distinctive noble residences. With the Ponitz Castle & Garden Days, the spacious castle park opens its grounds once a year for a curated garden and lifestyle fair – not a mass event, but a selection of around 40 exhibitors who present their products under the trees and in the historic park.

Concept: Living, Garden, Style

The focus is on high-quality garden craftsmanship and selected lifestyle products: rare perennials and seasonal flowers, stylish decorations, high-quality fashion and jewelry, rustic wooden furniture, creative design ideas for home, courtyard, and garden – from Italian designer fountains and root wood objects to custom fence creations. A special emphasis is placed on craftsmanship: glass artists, traditional scissor and knife grinders (bringing your own items is encouraged), and plant experts offer advice directly on site.

Friends Association and Municipality of Ponitz

The event is organized by the Friends of the Ponitz Renaissance Castle Association in cooperation with the municipality of Ponitz. Proceeds from admission and stand fees go towards the restoration and preservation of the castle and its park – thus, the Garden Days also serve as a benefit event for the Renaissance monument.
