Season finale on the MS RheinMagie — Techno cruise on the Rhine to conclude the PollerWiesen season
While other festival weekends take place on meadows or in halls, PollerWiesen Boat has conquered its own venue: a ship. Specifically, the MS RheinMagie, with 2,000 square meters of event space, the largest event ship in Europe. When the onboard speakers send the first techno bass onto the water at 1:45 PM on a Sunday afternoon in July, one of Germany's most unusual rave experiences begins — a floating dance floor that travels up and down the Rhine for a good seven hours.
The schedule is clearly timed:
The route typically leads upstream towards Bonn or downstream towards Düsseldorf — depending on the specific schedule communicated in advance by PollerWiesen. In any case: hours in which the panorama of Cologne Cathedral, the Kranhäuser, the ship traffic on the Rhine, and finally the city silhouettes will provide visual accompaniment to the techno sets.
The 2026 edition features a compact yet carefully curated lineup:
The sets are spread across the ship's decks — typically, there is a main floor deck with the main stage and an open-air sun deck with a second DJ setup. The exact floor distribution will be communicated before the event.
PollerWiesen is a Cologne open-air event series with a history: For decades, the brand established itself as the most important Cologne house and techno destination with annual major events on the Poller Wiesen directly on the Rhine (south of the city center). The Boat edition is the traditional season finale: What began in early summer on the meadows ends in midsummer with a Rhine cruise. The concept is intimate — not 15,000 visitors like on the meadows, but a much smaller, curated group on the ship.
Tickets cost €44 per person, group tickets for 5 people €205 (already sold out at the time of research). The age limit is 18 years — ID check upon boarding. The ship is barrier-free accessible via a ramp on board, with an elevator to the upper open-air deck and a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the lower deck. The bar counter is 90 cm high.
The nearest public transport stop is Ebertplatz (10-minute walk, 650 m). By car: Theodor-Heuss-Ring parking garage nearby. Those arriving from the surrounding area should be at the pier before 12:30 PM — the boarding queue can get long, and the ship departs punctually.
The 2026 edition continues the season finale concept: a single Sunday cruise on the Rhine with five curated acts. Europe's largest event ship (MS RheinMagie, 2,000 m²), barrier-free access, bar, and sun deck.

Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen) — the upper open-air deck has limited shade. Pack a change of clothes in your backpack in case wind and waves disrupt your sun-kissed look. If you're prone to seasickness: the Rhine is calm — no real waves, but slight swells when ships pass.
