Equestrian Tradition at Ströhen Zoo

The Reit- und Fahrverein Ströhen e.V. has been hosting its Pentecost Tournament for many years on the grounds of the Ströhen Zoo in Wagenfeld. The facility at Tierparkstraße 43 offers spacious warm-up and cool-down areas, a well-maintained show jumping arena, and a separate dressage arena. This makes Ströhen one of the most modern club facilities in the Diepholz district and capable of hosting demanding competitions without issue.

Competitions from Lead-Rein to Class S

The program traditionally includes competitions for young riders up to tasks for ambitious tournament athletes. Scheduled events include lead-rein classes, rider competitions, young jumping horse classes, as well as jumping competitions in Classes A, L, M, and up to Class S. In dressage, classes up to Class M are offered. This wide range allows both aspiring and top athletes to compete on the same grounds over a weekend.

Ströhen Zoo as a Special Setting

The proximity to Ströhen Zoo, one of Lower Saxony's most well-known zoos, lends the tournament a special atmosphere. Families can combine their visit to the tournament with a stroll through the zoo, making the weekend attractive for both equestrian enthusiasts and day-trippers.

Club and Commitment

Behind the tournament is the commitment of the members of the Reit- und Fahrverein Ströhen, who jointly manage the event through days of preparation. Catering, stable services, and organization are all voluntary, shaping the character of the tournament and ensuring a pleasant atmosphere.
