The Pfingstschützenfest Scharnebeck is the annual Pentecost tradition of the Schützenverein Scharnebeck von 1896 e.V. With nearly 130 years of club history, the association is one of the traditional shooting clubs in the Lüneburg district. The festival begins on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 4 PM on the Schützenplatz Scharnebeck.

Pentecost as a High Shooting Festival

In many northern German communities, Pentecost is traditionally the date for the annual Schützenfest — as it is in Scharnebeck. Pentecost Friday marks the start of the weekend, during which the new monarchs are chosen and crowned.
