Overview

The 14th Peitzer Karpfenwochen 2025 ran from September 20 to October 26, 2025. For six weeks, participating restaurateurs served carp menus according to Lausitz tradition, alongside pond tours, punt trips, and special tours of the ironworks. The highlight was the 28th Great Fish Catch on October 25 and 26, 2025 — pond draining at Hälterteich with a fish market, Klemmkuchen, ironworks demonstrations, and a family program.

The 14th Peitzer Karpfenwochen 2025 were celebrated from September 20 to October 26, 2025, in Peitz and the surrounding Niederlausitz region. As every year, the organizers were the Office of Peitz, the Friends of the Ironworks Association (Förderverein Hüttenwerk e.V.), and Teichgut Peitz GmbH. Over a dozen restaurants — including the Hotel Zum Goldenen Löwen and the Karpfenschänke am Pinnower See — participated with carp menus from the Lausitz culinary tradition.

The highlight of the season was the 28th Great Fish Catch (Großer Fischzug) on October 25 and 26, 2025, at the Hälterteich pond. Thousands of visitors came for the traditional pond draining, bought fresh carp at the fish market, tasted Spreewald Klemmkuchen fresh from the iron, and visited the ironworks with its active forge. Punt trips on the Hammergraben canal and a family program with children's fishing completed the weekend — the usual recipe for success of the festival.
