Two days of open-air and club festival on the Peißnitzinsel — Techno, Breaks, Hip-Hop, and Drag Show
In the heart of Halle (Saale), surrounded by the Saale river, lies the Peißnitzinsel — a city island, recreational area, park, meadow, water. In the middle of it all is the Peißnitzhaus, a historic restaurant building in the late Gründerzeit style, operated by Peißnitzhaus e.V. as a socio-cultural center. Readings, concerts, workshops, and club nights take place here — and once a year, on a July weekend, the Peißnitzhaus Sommerfest: a two-day open-air club festival that transforms the island into an open-air dance floor.
The concept is consistently collective and community-oriented: instead of commissioning a commercial event organizer GmbH, Peißnitzhaus e.V. cooperates with seven Halle collectives, each responsible for a part of the program. In 2026, these include:
Three stages are spread across the outdoor area around the Peißnitzhaus. The musical spectrum is broad: Techno, Breaks, Drum'n'Bass, Live Bands, Hip-Hop, Afrobeats. In addition, there are program points away from the dance floor: workshops (e.g., on awareness, consumption, safer use), a Drag Show, and participatory activities. The festival has a clear stance: P18 access, awareness team, safer space concept.
Halle (Saale) has surprisingly developed into a vibrant electronic music city in recent years — with clubs like Stadtgarten, Goldene Rose, Turm. The Peißnitzhaus Sommerfest is an open-air extension of this scene, bringing it to one of its most beautiful locations: the Peißnitzinsel, in the middle of the city, surrounded by the Saale and the park, with a view of Giebichenstein Castle. Halle, an independent city in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, creates an event here that matches the city's spirit in size, concept, and atmosphere: an alternative university city with a self-confident underground.
The summer festival is still a young event — the 2026 edition is only the 3rd. But it has quickly established itself as an important fixture in Halle's summer calendar. Tickets via Eventfrog, P18 access.
The 3rd edition continues the successful concept: open-air club festival on the Peißnitzinsel with three stages and seven curating collectives. Detailed program and stage times will be released in several phases starting spring 2026.
