Family-friendly Salsa and Bachata dance festival at the concert shell in Ebertpark with DJ Planetsalsero Martin O.
The concert shell in Ebertpark is one of Ludwigshafen's most atmospheric open-air stages. As part of the summer series Orangerie Kultur im Ebertpark, it becomes a meeting point for concerts, dance parties, and cultural open-air formats on several summer days. Parque de la Salsa is one of the most popular events in this series and is explicitly aimed at dance enthusiasts of all levels, families, and strollers who visit the park anyway.
The program begins at 3 PM with a warm-up and transitions into Salsa and Bachata dance classes from 4 PM. These classes are offered in two separate tracks for adults and children, so that even the youngest dancers can experience their first steps in Caribbean dance cultures. The classes are accessible, require no pre-registration, and are free of charge.
From 5:30 PM, DJ Planetsalsero Martin O. takes over, who is considered one of the top addresses for Salsa events in the entire Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. His set combines Cuban Salsa, Puerto Rican classics, Bachata hits, and Latin Pop. The open-air dance floor in front of the concert shell typically fills up quickly with advanced dance couples, beginners trying out what they've learned, and a diverse audience of families, commuters, and Latin fans from Mannheim and the Palatinate.
Parque de la Salsa was originally announced for May 14th, 2026. Due to adverse weather conditions, the event has been postponed to Sunday, June 14th, 2026. Those who wanted to attend on the original date can experience the entire program on June 14th, with presumably better summer conditions.
The event is part of the Orangerie Kultur summer series in Ebertpark. Detailed program information is available on the website of the Turmrestaurant. In case of extreme weather, a further short-term postponement may occur.
