Parish Festival Maximiliansau

The Pfarrfest Maximiliansau is one of the central parish festivals in the Wörth urban parish landscape and is organized by the parish of Mariä Himmelfahrt in the district of the same name. Maximiliansau is located directly on the Rhine riverbank opposite Karlsruhe and has cultivated a vibrant Catholic community culture for generations.

Kick-off with Festive Service

The day traditionally begins with a solemn festive service in the parish church, musically enhanced by the church choir and organist. Afterwards, the service attendees move into the parish garden and the forecourt of the church, where the social part of the day takes place.

Parish Garden as Festival Grounds

The parish garden at Elisabethenstraße 45 serves as the main venue. Pavilions and catering stands are managed by the community groups, the women's association, the scouts, the altar servers, and the Kolping family. Bratwurst, steak, fries, salads, coffee, and homemade cake form the basic culinary offering.

Children's and Family Program

For the children, there is a diverse range of activities: games on the lawn, craft activities by the scouts, a bouncy castle, and occasionally face painting. Families from the district use the day to exchange ideas, learn about new developments in the parish, and get to know new members.

Significance

The parish festival is an important source of income for the parish – the proceeds traditionally go towards youth work, church renovations, or charitable projects.
