The Concept — Summer Thursdays at the Cloef-Atrium
The Orscholz Summer of Culture is a series of open-air concerts that uses the Cloef-Atrium as its central venue — featuring one of Germany's most spectacular backdrops: the panoramic view of the famous Saarschleife. The series is jointly organized by the Kreiskulturzentrum Villa Fuchs and the Mettlach municipality. Concerts start at 7 p.m., and the open-air beer garden of Bistro Amara (formerly Bistro Mirabell) provides catering.
The Cloef-Atrium — Saarschleifenland at its Finest
The Cloef-Atrium is a tourism information center, event venue, and viewpoint all in one. A short walk away is the Cloef viewpoint, offering a view of the spectacular Saarschleife — the Saar River winds here in a tight loop through a valley, creating one of Germany's most famous natural spectacles. If you're planning a concert evening at the Cloef-Atrium, be sure to hike to the viewpoint before the concert (5 min. walk).

- August 13, 2026, 7:00 PM — The Mad Facts: Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly trio, season finale

Saarschleifenland — Tourism and Culture Combined
The municipality of Mettlach in the Merzig-Wadern district is a central tourist hub in Saarland. In addition to the Saarschleife, it's home to the headquarters of the ceramics group Villeroy & Boch, the Saarland Sculpture Museum, and several hiking trails. The Orscholz district serves as the gateway to the Saarschleife — the Cloef-Atrium area attracts thousands of tourists annually.
Mettlach in the Merzig-Wadern District
The Merzig-Wadern district is located in western Saarland, bordering Luxembourg and France. With the Saarschleife, Mettlach Castle, Werner Freund Wolf Park, and the Roman Villa Borg, the region boasts a density of attractions unparalleled in Saarland. The Summer of Culture at the Cloef-Atrium fits seamlessly into this cultural offering.
