Summer concert series with after-work sessions, Salsa, Chanson, and Latin evenings at the bandstand in Ludwigshafen's Ebertpark
The Ebertpark in the Ludwigshafen district of Friesenheim is one of the city's oldest park facilities. Opened in 1925 for the South German Horticultural Exhibition, it remains one of the most beautiful green spaces in the Vorderpfalz to this day. At its center are the Turmrestaurant – an architectural landmark with a viewing platform – and the historic bandstand, an open-air stage. It is precisely this bandstand that forms the heart of the Orangerie Kultur series.
The 2026 program relies on a proven mix of genres: After-work concerts at the start of the week, Latin and Salsa evenings with DJs and live music, Chanson evenings with French repertoire, open-air film nights, and culinary specials. The concerts usually start in the late afternoon or early evening and last until dusk. Admission is generally free – the Turmrestaurant earns money from food and drinks, which means a very low barrier for spontaneous visitors.
The season kicks off on May 8th with a Benefit AfterWork BBQ and the Trio Akaduo. This is followed by the Latin and Salsa series Parque de la Salsa (May 14th and 16th), a DJ set on May 20th, and the French Chanson series SansBaguette on May 25th – Whit Monday with the duo Maleika Ledig-Schmidt and Heidrun Arnegger, plus Boules and French cuisine. Further concerts will follow in June for the Pfalzfest and Rheinuferfest, with more sessions in the summer and early autumn, the detailed dates of which will be continuously published by the Turmrestaurant.
In recent years, Orangerie Kultur im Ebertpark has developed into an understated, low-threshold cultural offering with a wide reach. It appeals to a cross-generational audience: families from the surrounding districts, Salsa enthusiasts from Mannheim, Chanson fans from the Pfalz, and the after-work crowd from the region's businesses.
The dates for individual sessions will be continuously communicated by the Turmrestaurant. Early highlights of the season include the After-Work Benefit Concert on May 8th, the Parque de la Salsa dates on May 14th and 16th (rescheduled from May 14th to 16th due to weather), the DJ set on May 20th, and the Whit Monday concert with SansBaguette on May 25th. June will feature concerts for the Pfalzfest and the Staatsphilharmonie's open-air performance for the Rheinuferfest.
The detailed 2026 program will be continuously published by the organizer. The following dates are confirmed:
