Open-mic evening in the Rathauspark as part of the Felgenfest weekend
Open-mic formats have a special magic: no one knows in advance what will be on stage. The Open Stage in the Rathauspark Bodenwerder is one of those formats that enrich the Wesertal with a mix of spontaneity, talent promotion, and conviviality.
The Open Stage is embedded in the Felgenfest weekend of Bodenwerder's town center – one of the town's traditional summer festivals. As part of this festival weekend, the Open Stage takes place on Friday evening, offering a special kickoff that helps shape the character of the weekend.
The stage in the Rathauspark is open between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Anyone who wishes can briefly register and perform for the audience: a song, a poem, a short musical contribution – anything is possible. The KulturMühle Buchhagen organizes registration and technical support; the audience is invited to watch, celebrate along, and appreciate the respective performances.
Experience from past years shows a wide range: singer-songwriters with guitars, local hobby bands, spoken-word artists, readings, improvisations. This diversity is the charm of the evening – no one knows what will be on stage next.
For many artists, the Open Stage is an important step: a first public performance, a performance in front of a new audience, a test run for new material. The KulturMühle Buchhagen therefore also sees the format as a contribution to promoting local talents and cultural diversity in the Wesertal.
The Rathauspark Bodenwerder offers a charming open-air backdrop. Trees, green spaces, and the historic town center frame the stage. In summer weather, the evening becomes a convivial picnic concert, where the audience sits or stands on the lawn and appreciates the performances.
The 2026 edition continues the popular open-mic format by KulturMühle Buchhagen. Embedded in the Felgenfest weekend, the Open Stage offers local and regional talents a visible platform.
